  • Before attending a property viewing, plan out what information you need to establish to help you select your new home.
  • Take the time to be thorough during the viewing and clarify any points of uncertainty.
  • Obtain confirmation in writing of any specific changes or points that are discussed and agreed.
  • Understand why, and obtain a receipt for all monies handed over.
  • Once your offer has been accepted you will be given a moving in date, which will include a check of the inventory. This is your opportunity to inspect the property against the inventory. Taking the time to be thorough and clarifying points of uncertainty will prevent problems at the end of the tenancy.
  • Finally keep your landlord or agent informed about any faults, problems or concerns you may have so they can be dealt with before they become major issues.
